Erhan Akkas is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at the Social Sciences University of Ankara. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics at Istanbul University in 2010. He received his master’s degree in Global Political Economy from the University of Sussex in 2014, and his PhD in Islamic Economics and Finance from Durham University in 2019. He has been a visiting researcher at Qatar University and Durham University. He edited the book Islamic Economics and Financial Crisis, published by Routledge, and translated several influential works into Turkish, including Finance and the Good Society and Social Capital and Risk Sharing. His research and publications primarily focus on international economics, political economy, development, the political economy of the Middle East, Islamic economics, and Islamic finance.
